Henry Luetgert

A nephew of Adolph Luetgert and the eldest of Adolph's brother Heinrich Arnold's eight children. His full name was Heinrich Franz Karl August Luetgert. Henry took over Arnold's real-estate business on Chicago's South Side upon his death.

On September 14, 1907, the Chicago Daily News reported:

Henry Luetgert, 24 years old, said by the police to be the nephew of Adolph Luetgert..., was arrested by New York City police to-day on a charge of obtaining money by false pretenses. He is accused of having obtained $50 from Mrs. Josephine Blank, 39 years old, 5224 Paulina street. Mrs. Blank charges that she paid Luetgert $50 as an option on a cottage at 51st and Justine streets, after he had represented to her that he was in the real-estate business at 5154 Ashland avenue and had been engaged to sell the property. Mrs. Blank says she has since learned that Luetgert does not own the property and that he was not authorized at any time to dispose of it. Luetgert denies the charges. He was arraigned before Judge Going at the Englewood Municipal court to-day. The case was continued until September 26.

The outcome of this arrest is unknown.
